With over 2200 mutual funds to choose from customers were spoilt for choice and only AMCs with faster digital processes could retain customers. A large Indian AMC identified this need and gave us a mandate to revamp the UX of its mobile app. The AMC sells mutual funds through IFAs (Independent Financial Agents) and family wealth advisors. These IFAs used to heavily rely on face-to-face meetings, and most of their processes were paper based. This put them at a significant disadvantage.
We created an app aimed at simplifying registration process for new customers and enabling IFAs to sell better. Using the new app, IFAs could onboard customers faster. They now had the convenience of scanning documents and uploading on the mobile app, eliminating basic KYC operational hassles. They could quickly search for information regarding new NFOs and top performing mutual funds. They could also compare funds and suggest the best one based on an investors' risk appetite, and initiate transactions on the mobile app.
The app also enabled them to track their Assets Under Management, Individual HNI portfolios, growth in portfolios and commissions that the AMC owes them.
